Matthew Richard Robinson, born Exeter. The new Robbo signed from Reading in Summer 2002, the first dedicated left back the club has had for some time, although under the 5-3-2 system Matty played at left wing-back. He had an excellent reputation as an attacking fullback and soon showed himself to be the key to shoring up the defence. Robinson was also the first bald player to don the Yellow shirt since Bobby MacDonald, also a full back, which has to count for something...

After four seasons, though, Robbo found that his pace had deserted him, and his less than impressive performances during the 2005/06 season were partly to blame for the slide into the Conference. At the end of that season Robbo did not have his contract renewed.
