James Magilton, born Belfast. Signed from Liverpool reserves, and performed so well in midfield that he earned several Northern Ireland caps and became captain. Superb penalty taker, missing just once in roughly 40 attempts. Wobbled his head when he ran. Some consider that his sale to Southampton, just after United knocked Leeds out of the FA Cup at Elland Road, heralded the start of United`s decline. Oxford legend. Northern Ireland Schoolboy international; Northern Ireland Youth international; 1 Northern Ireland Under-21 cap; 2 Northern Ireland Under-23 caps; 52 Northern Ireland caps; Football League representative honours.
