Yet another name has entered the frame for new manager at United. Another former player (although this time without the reputation of Shotts) who has some managerial experience (at Conference outfit Stevenage): Richard Hill. If Oxford could take on everyone who has shown interest in the post it would more than double the size of the squad.
The Judicial Review saga isn't over just yet. If Pentith or British Rail Property Board decide to appeal they have ten days to go back to the Judge and if the Judge's decision is still to refuse the applicant has a further seven days in which to go to the Court of Appeal. This means that we can't really be sure until at least November 5th.
According to the Dundee website Dundee's signing talks with Nicky Tanner (sic) have been put on hold until next week. Banger (for it is he) had been out of the picture at Oxford but following the sacking of Malcolm Shotton he wants to see what the situation is before making a decision. “Nicky wants to find out what the story is down there, and I can understand that, He'll stay up here for the next few days and watch our game with Hearts on Saturday. Then he'll travel back down and see what the situation at Oxford is, so it looks like being next week before we can take things any further.” said Dundee manager Jocky Scott.
Johnny Lager (aka Durnin) has joined Blackpool on a month's loan from Portsmouth. Durnin's family still lives in Liverpool and it's thought that a move north would suit him, especially as at 34 he's not getting in the Pompey first team any more. Chris Allen has signed on loan for Stockport. He played in the 2-0 reserve loss at Sheffield United in midweek, and early reports are that he played quite well. He teams up with former United coach David Moss (as well as Smudger of course).
