Wolves Worthington wanderings

In the first round draw of the Worthington Cup, made today, United have been drawn to play Wolverhampton Wanderers. The first leg will be at Molineux on Tuesday 22nd August, whilst the second leg will be at the Manor on Tuesday September 5th. United fans will remember Wolves as an average Division One team which still plays in United’s old colours.

Jarman waiting in the sky

Reports on Ceefax suggest that Lee Jarman has done enough on his short trial with United to impress Denis Smith, who apparently is on the verge of offering him a contract. Where this would leave Mark Watson, should he turn up following Canada’s crap 0-0 home draw with Panama (match reportĀ here) which virtually ensures the Canuck’s elimination from the World Cup, is uncertain, although United probably don’t have enough in the budget to pay two sets of wages and signing-on fees.
