Who’s kidding?

Who's kidding?

United travel to Aggborough on Saturday, hoping to put thoughts of swindon and live TV out of their minds as they concentrate on the more important matter of collecting league points. With Kidderminster in the play-off zone, but just three points ahead of United, this is another vital game which could see the Us start slipping behind the leading pack if they slip up. The good news is that Bobby Ford could be on the bench, although it again looks likely that Lee Steele won't yet be ready.

In the likely continuing absence of Adi Viveash or another centre half in his stead Ian Atkins may well continue with Dave Waterman as the third central defender. Alternatively he could move Scott McNiven into the middle and bring in Roy Hunter to right wing back. Steve Basham and David Oldfield will most probably continue up front, whilst the midfield will also probably be unchanged from the somewhat unconvincing victory at Dover.

Kidderminster will probably have Drewe Broughton up front, whom Mark Wright attempted to sign last season, and who knows who else in their line-up. They did well on Tuesday to come from 2-0 down to draw at Torquay, but they've yet to come up against an Oxford side that plays in blue. Nonetheless, our natural reticence to predict anything vaguely optimistic leads us to predict a 2-0 victory for the Harriers.

Reserves have no fortune out west

Last night United's reserves lost 1-0 at Cardiff, the only goal being scored by City's Leo Fortune-West. Also lining up for the home side were recent United loanee Gavin Gordon and new City signing Fan Zhuyi. United's young side performed very well but were unable to get the important breaks. In United's side were Manny Omoyinmi and Carlin Itonga up front, triallist Ciaran Ryan from Bolton, Roy Hunter, ROS Chris Hackett, Paul Powell and Simon Cox in goal.
