United's allegedly technically gifted young forward Simon Weatherstone is currently pondering a loan move to Conference club Hayes. Weatherstone isn't figuring in David Kemp's plans and kemp has told the 21 year old that he needs to be getting regular first team games elsewhere. If Weatherstone accepts the move he should make his Hayes debut on Saturday against bottom club Kettering.
United have been cleared by the FA of any responsibility for the net pulling incident at Macclesfield in November. Apparently the FA took two months to study the evidence and came to the conclusion that United weren't telling porkies when they claimed that the culprits were actually supporters of other teams who had infiltrated the away end. Rage Online couldn't possibly comment on this allegation, other than to claim that an RO reporter witnessed some of those involved at the Chester match in the second round of the same competition.
Meanwhile the case to determine Les Wells' caution over his claim for a right of way through the Minchery Farm site, postponed until today from Tuesday, has been further delayed and will possibly take place sometime next week.
David Kemp spent the best part of an hour on Radio Oxford this evening answering supporters' questions. Nothing much was said that was particularly newsworthy, but Kemp was confident and positive about the future. He believes that the side which we saw against Walsall displayed the spirit that we are going to see for the remainder of the season.
Kemp reiterated his faith in the 4-4-2 system and that with two wingers, two decent centre forwards and the new players he has brought in the U's should escape the drop. He did say that players coming into the club meant there would be others leaving and, although he didn't name individuals, he did say that this could include “crowd favourites”; he was responding to a question which mentioned Rage On Sponsored Rob Folland, who has failed to appear in any of Kemp's teams so far, and Paul Powell, who has been plagued by injuries this season.
