United went back to the bottom of the league following swindon's 1-0 win at Bristol City. At least they only have one game in hand on us now. Bournemouth, also without a win this season, drew 1-1 at home to Port Vale to move two points clear of us. Former United triallist Stefan Thordarsson scored one of Stoke's three against Peterborough.

In Division Three Danny Hill scored Cardiff's equaliser against Brighton at Ninian Park. Nigel Jemson scored a penalty as Shrewsbury beat Darlington 1-0. In the Conference Mark MacGregor again scored for Nuneaton in their 1-1 draw at Dagenham and Redbridge.
