Jamie Cook has joined the Weatherstones at Conference outfit Boston, after talks between the player and the club ended in a deal. Cook did have a trial at Darlington but the northern outfit didn't offer the Witney lad, formerly sponsored by Rage On, a contract, even though he was available on a free transfer and wouldn't have cost a fortune in wages. With Cookie gone, and he had already been told that he wouldn't be playing for United again, one has to wonder what the future holds in store for Rob Folland as, with Darren Bowler's last game at the club this Saturday, Rage On sponsorship appears to be the kiss of death for the unfortunate victim. Next season we are considering sponsoring Matt Murphy…
Neil Cutler's loan spell ends after Saturday's home game with Millwall and manager David Kemp is going to chairman Firoz Kassam to ask for funds to extend the goalkeeper's loan from Aston Villa for a third month, despite concerns with Cutler's kicking ability. Indeed, Kemp came out with a bizarre statement that if Cutler could kick properly then he wouldn't be playing for Oxford, which is hardly likely to endear either manager or goalkeeper with the fans. Kassam may decide that, with Richard Knight on the bench, Cutler's performances don't justify his premiership wages, especially considering the size of United's squad.
