Cup replay to be televised

Article by Dan Church Tuesday, November 12th, 2013

Oxford United’s FA Cup first-round replay against Conference side Gateshead has been chosen as one of two live games to be broadcast on BT Sport. The U’s away tie at the Gateshead International Stadium will be live on television, with the victors travelling to Wrexham in the next round.

The Yellows have been chosen alongside Monday’s FA Cup clash between Brackley Town and Gillingham, with United kicking off at 7.45pm on Wednesday 20 November. The club will receive upward of £33,000 from the tie, plus a further £18,000 if Chris Wilder’s side can win the game.

Oxford salvaged a replay after coming from two goals down to pin back Gary Mills’ side to 2-2 at the Kassam Stadium on Saturday, thanks to Deane Smalley’s strike and a last-gasp header from midfielder Danny Rose.
