United host Tranmere in 2nd Round

Article by Dan Church Monday, November 10th, 2014

Oxford United have drawn fellow Division Four strugglers Tranmere Rovers in the second round of the FA Cup.

Michael Appleton’s U’s will host Micky Adams’ side at the Kassam Stadium on either the 5th, 6th or 7th of December.

Oxford currently sit 19th in Division Four, four points above the relegation zone, with Tranmere level on points with rock bottom Hartlepool United in the bottom two.

It will be the second time United have faced Tranmere so far this season after Oxford won 2-0 at the Kassam only three weeks ago thanks to goals from Tyrone Barnett and Alfie Potter.

The Yellows defeated Conference outfit Grimsby Town 3-1 in the first round of the FA Cup on Saturday, with James Roberts scoring twice on his first start for the club and Danny Rose adding a third goal shortly after half-time.
