Oxford United’s Sean Rigg and Chris Wilder have been nominated for individual nPower League Two awards. Winger Rigg and boss Wilder are shortlisted for the honour of player and manager of the month awards for December.

Rigg, a summer signing from Port Vale, has contributed highly to United’s unbeaten run through the Christmas period with impressive displays such as Oxford’s 3-1 away victory to Exeter City and scoring a brilliant effort against AFC Wimbledon later in the year.

Fleetwood Town goalkeeper Scott Davies and Rochdale striker Ashley Grimes compete with the Us winger for the award, with the winners set to be announced on Sky Sports Friday morning.

Meanwhile manager Chris Wilder battles it out with Gareth Ainsworth from Wycombe Wanderers and Burton Albion boss Gary Rowett for the recognition of manager of the month.

Wilder has taken the Yellows onto an inspiring run of form, including three straight wins to end 2012, and hopefully the momentum to push the team onwards during the second half of the campaign.

And lastly, Oxford’s encounter with Fleetwood Town has been arranged for Tuesday 12th February. The original fixture was scheduled for the 22nd December, but was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch, with the match against the Cod Army now being played next month with a 7.45pm kick-off.
