Tuesday world

From the Rage Online newsdesk Tuesday, February 27th, 2007

There were three games in the Conference this evening, and although none of them affected the top of the table, we thought that you might like to know about them, for some reason. Former promotion hopefuls Grays Athletic climbed out of the relegation zone after beating St Albans 2-1. This was the Essex side's first win since 21 October, when they beat the Hertfordshire side 6-0. Grays leapfrog St Albans, moving up to 20th place with the Saints now occupying the top relegation spot.

Northwich Victoria climbed up to 15th place following their 2-0 win at Halifax. The Shaymen, in 18th place, were above the Vics on goal difference before the game, but are now just three points above the drop zone.

The evening's other match was a 1-1 draw between Cambridge United and Forest Green Rovers. The visitors had taken the lead in the first half, but a second-half strike from former United winger Courtney Pitt[@player]Pitt, Courtney[/@player] rescued a point for Cambridge, who are now just one place below Halifax on goal difference, and two points above Grays.
