Kidderminster Harriers have won 5-1 at Phil Gilchrist's Woking to pour further doubt on United's already-slim chances of contesting this season's play-offs. Oxford are five points adrift of Kidderminster, who have played two games fewer than the Us. Woking remain third from bottom, three points from safety.
United's Secretary and General Manager Mick Brown has resigned from the Conference Board following the release of their “findings” into their administration procedures. The Conference, needless to report, took absolutely no responsibility for the shambles that has led to four clubs, including Oxford, receiving points deductions this season for fielding players who hadn't been registered. This is despite the Conference apparently changing a perfectly adequate system that was in use last season, and which has since been restored. Brown was also, rightly, unhappy that he hadn't been sent a copy of the review, despite being on the Board, to which he was appointed at the start of last season.
United boss Chris Wilder has been voted the Conference's Manager of the Month for March. The club's record last month reads:
Won 3 Drawn 2 Lost 0 Goals For 16 Goals Against 7.
Wilder will be presented with the award before Saturday's game against Histon. This is a game that United have to win to retain any likelihood at all of reaching the play-offs.
