Tied with a Yellow ribbon

Tied with a Yellow ribbon

The Rage Online readers Player of the Month for August was a dead heat between Richard Knight and Jon Richardson, both of whom received 34% of the vote. In third place was our old friend No-one, for whom 14% of you voted. Joey and Dean Whitehead each received 7% of the votes.

Reading the riot act

Rage Online has been informed by the Reading Racial Equality Commission that a demonstration over the Ross Weatherstone incident is being planned at the game at the Madejski Stadium on October 28th. Although we don't know what form this demonstration will take, we understand that the local Asian community, especially the taxi drivers, are very upset over the totally inadequate response of United on this issue. Whilst Rage Online isn't organising any protest ourselves, we fully support the demo of our colleagues in Reading, and trust that you will too.

And now for something completely different…

Bournemouth beat swindon 3-0 to move above them and further away from us. Bristol City's home game with Brentford was postponed. Paul Wanless opened the scoring for Cambridge as they beat Port Vale 4-0. Marco Gabbiadini scored the only goal as Northampton won at Millwall.

They say that miracles never happen, but David Smith scored tonight for Stockport. They still lost 3-1 at home to Norwich, mind. In Division Three Nigel Jemson scored twice (neither of them penalties) for Shrewsbury as they won 4-1 at home to Plymouth. Doen in the Conference Mark MacGregor scored yet another goal for Nuneaton Borough, but they lost 2-1 at home to Hereford.
