A United XI lost their pre-season game on Monday night after going down 2-0 to Mike Ford’s Brackley Town. The game was notable primarily for the return of Jamie Brooks to the field of play after the injury he sustained last season. Brooks played only one half, to be replaced by his bother Ryan, but Rage Online is heartened to see the return of the legend-in-waiting and hopes he knocks at least three past Leicester on Saturday !
The Brackley game again featured (Hey) Jude Stirling, who sadly failed to find the net this time round, but who was injured during the game. Billy Turley also saved a penalty.
In other news, Dave Woozley has been lined up to play for Aldershot as they take on a Charlton XI on Saturday, and Leo Roget is included in a Grimsby side that faces Doncaster at the weekend. Rage Online is keeping its electronic fingers crossed that they are both sucessful in their bids to find first team football and wonders whether the departure of those two may provide enough leeway in the wage-cap to bring players like Stirling and perhaps Lee Hughes, the Yeading trialist, in to the squad.
