Dear Rage On

Please could you pass on my thanks to the following:

1. Unknown Oxford fan who handed in my plastic card wallet at the Bury game on 3rd January. It wasn’t until I got back to my car after the match, that I realised that it had somehow come out of my back pocket – I can’t understand why, there was nothing much happening on pitch to jump up and down about! If you let me know who you are (tell me some detail of what was in the wallet) then I’m paying for your next OUFC away game ticket. (get in touch with Rage Online and we will pass on details of the honest fan to Marcus)

2. Ramon Diaz for firstly, agreeing to come and do this job for next to nothing – I don’t know what he was told about Oxford United (he was probably sent a copy of the 1986 Milk Cup final video) but I suspect that it sounded a lot better in Spanish than it appears in English. And secondly, for having the bottle to play so many of our promising youngsters. We may not be charging up the table just yet but we are picking a few points and the experience these young players are getting now, should pay dividends over the rest of the season and hopefully next.

3. Oxford United away support – at the recent away games I have attended (Chester, Rushden, Bury) the Oxford support has been magnificent, in all cases putting the home fans to shame. The play on the pitch has not been the beautiful game (it hasn’t for a long time) but things are beginning to look better and the players confidence will surely improve with constant encouragement.
