Stevenage feast at the Abbey

From the Rage Online newsdesk Saturday, December 26th, 2009

With United's game being called off, Stevenage Borough took full advantage to close the gap to just two points. Although Oxford have two games in hand on Borough, it would obviously be preferable to have the points. Stevenage came from behind to win 3-1 at Cambridge United, with Yemi Odubade scoring the first Borough goal from the penalty spot, followed shortly by Cambridge being reduced to ten men when Wayne Hatswell was sent off. York City moved to six points behind United with a routine 3-0 win over Mansfield Town, who dropped to sixth.

AFC Wimbledon moved into fourth place with a convincing 5-0 win over Hayes & Yeading, while fifth-placed Kettering Town were held to a 0-0 draw by Tamworth. Kidderminster Harriers moved up to seventh place with a 2-0 win over bottom club Chester City.

Second-bottom Grays Athletic were beaten 2-1 at third-bottom Ebbsfleet United, while Forest Green Rovers went up to fourth from bottom with a 3-1 win over 18th-placed Salisbury City, whom United hope to play on Monday. Eastbourne Borough are three points above the drop zone after drawing 2-2 at Crawley Town, while Gateshead are level on points after they drew 3-3 at Barrow.

As well as Oxford's game against Rushden & Diamonds getting called off, the games at Luton vs Histon and Wrexham vs Altrincham were also postponed because of frozen pitches.
