Steele deal

As widely anticipated former Brighton striker Lee Steele has joined Oxford United on a free transfer. 28 year old Steele scored ten goals for the Division Two outfit last season from just 18 starts. Steele turned down Blackpool in order to join United, and it is thought that Huddersfield were also interested in him.

Steele is United's fourth close-season signing and it is hoped that a further two players will join before the start of the season. Lee Hodges is still thought to be a possibility, although it apparently depends on whether his agent is prepared to reduce his demands.

OxVox meeting

Tomorrow (Thursday) is the first OxVox general members' meeting. If you are an OxVox member (and if you're not, why not?) then make your way to the Blackbird Leys Community Centre for a 7.30 start. If you're not a member you can still go along as you can join on the door. Peter Rhoades-Brown and Les Taylor will be there to talk about United's community and youth programmes, and there will also be a general plenary session for members to raise any issues they wish.
