Sodje all

From the Rage Online newsdesk Monday, November 23rd, 2009

Oxford United today signed striker Onome Sodje from Barnsley on an emergency loan. The fast striker joins United in time for inclusion in the squad for tomorrow's game at Forest Green Rovers.

Sodje last saw Conference football last season with York City. The Nigerian was with the Minstermen for two seasons, having joined from Gravesend & Northfleet, whom he joined after coming through the Charlton Athletic ranks. United fans may remember him as the man who scored the goal that condemned the Us to their first Conference defeat in November 2006.

The deadline for loan signings before the January transfer window is this Thursday, and Chris Wilder has previously hinted that he might be bringing in two players to strengthen the squad. While this might be a ruse to increase the hit counter on the official website, it will certainly mean an entertaining couple of days of wild speculation. Don't forget to check back here tomorrow morning for our wildly inaccurate ramblings ahead of the Forest Green game.
