On Tuesday Shrewsbury Town face their first visit in five seasons to the Kassam Stadium. In January 2006 only 3,702 bothered to watch the Us defeated 3-0 with all three goals coming in the last 25 minutes. This season the fixture planned for December was postponed because of slippery conditions, so the Us now face them on a cold Tuesday night in January.

Oxford United come into the game with a disappointing 2-1 defeat at Northampton Town after the superb run they have had with six wins out of seven prior to that. James Constable replaced Jack Midson in the starting line-up, but the Yellows were otherwise unchanged. The Us were yet again behind at half-time, but battled back for an equaliser early in the second half through goal-hungry Tom Craddock, before the Cobblers took all three points with another goal from a corner from Leon McKenzie, rather than new boy Shaun Harrad who had taken most of the pre-game attention. It seems the Us can neither defend corners nor score from them. Behind the goal we were baffled by some of the officials
