In today's draw for the FA Cup second round, Oxford United were handed a trip to Torquay United, should the Yellows manage to overcome Dorchester Town in Tuesday week's first round replay.[@opponent]torquay united[/@opponent] Yesterday, Torquay beat Evesham 2-0 at Plainmoor.
The last time United met Torquay in the FA Cup was in 1982/83, when Jim Smith was in charge. Torquay won 2-1 after a 1-1 draw at the Manor. The second round games are due to take place on Saturday 29 November, although even if Oxford don't get through they may have a game that date, as they're scheduled to host Forest Green Rovers. Rovers visit Team Bath today in the first round, the winners hosting Barnet or Rochdale.
In other games, Histon were rewarded for doing the world a favour with a home tie against the winners of the Leeds United v Northampton Town game. The sides drew 1-1 at Elland Road on Friday night. Eastwood Town, who beat Brackley Town 2-1 yesterday, will meet either Wycombe Wanderers or AFC Wimbledon, who meet tomorrow evening, while Curzon Ashton received scant reward for beating Exeter City, for whom Steve Basham scored in their 3-2 defeat, drawn away to Kidderminster Harriers.
