Scurrilous goss

Teamtalk, that bastion of accurate reporting, claims that Sunderland are poised to swoop for Manny Omoyinmi for £400,000. Meanwhile, reports almost as untrustworthy claim that John Robertson is having talks with Kilmarnock.

Denis Smith has now reportedly terminated his involvement with United and is now waiting for Sven-Goran Eriksson to stand down. In the meantime Eriksson has invited current United boss Mark Wright to be his guest of honour for the Mexico friendly this Friday in Derby.

Another Oxford pre-season friendly will be at Farnborough, so add that to the list of exotic locations to follow the U's to in July. Before then, at the end of May in fact, the Supporters Club at the Manor will close its doors forever, to be replaced (after a fashion) by the Priory and ? at Minchery Farm. The main similarity is that both venues don't stock decent beer.
