Mark Wright only made one change from the side which lost at Darlington last week, bringing Wayne Hatswell back into the defence for Jon Richardson. Despite going behind so early Wright only made one substitution during the game, bringing Chris Hackett on to replace Jamie Brooks.

Referee P. Taylor added to United's disciplinary points total by booking Phil Bolland, Hatswell, Brooks and Dean Whitehead. The attendance of 4,201 included almost a thousand United followers most of whom were not best pleased with the team's performance. A match report can be found here.

Two former United players were on target in today's other fixtures, both in the FA Cup 1st round. Mark Stein scored the only goal of the game from the penalty spot as Dagenham & Redbridge beat Southport, and Marco Gabbiadini hit both goals for Northampton as they won 2-1 at Torquay.
