Right royal reserves
United's reserves beat Reading 2-1 at Sonning Road, Reading's training camp, this afternoon. United opened the scoring after 50 minutes, and doubled the lead shortly afterwards. Reading pulled a goal back in the final minute through triallist Steve Warren. We will let you know United's scorers and line-up just as soon as we can. United were possibly going to include triallists, although Dutch striker Chima Onyeike and German midfielder Frank Laviani were both ruled out because their international clearance hasn't arrived in time. Australian Glenn Thomas and Wimbledon's Sam Okikiolu may have featured, as may Rob Folland, Darren Patterson, Martin Thomas, Wayne Hatswell and Thame's Jefferson Louis. Phil Wilson played in goal and made one good save right at the start. One United player had to be stretchered from the field, but we don't yet know who it was or the extent of his injury.
Colchester reserves, featuring Richard Knight in goal, beat Barnet's second string 2-1. Knight apparently had little to do, but showed good awareness.
