Relegation News

Whilst Cardiff's game at Gillingham was called off due to a waterlogged pitch, former United player Paul Wanless opened the scoring as Cambridge beat Bury 3-0 at the Abbey stadium, taking them back above United. Bastads!

Assorted nonsense

Apologies for the lack of updates over the last couple of days. Here's a few snippets which may or may not be of interest:

A story has emerged linking OUFC with a possible move to a new purpose-built stadium in Milton Keynes (apparently NOT an April Fool – apologies for the Tanzania story by the way – at least one person believed it!). It would appear that the idea is to try and attract a “big” Premiership club to the stadium (favourites are Wimbledon) but Oxford will do! Presumably the Oxford link is pure speculation; in fact, presumably the whole story is pure speculation.

Whilst the rumours linking Paul Powell with a Summer move to Newcastle (as a replacement for Didier Domi) grow stronger, an ex-Oxford player is also being linked with a move to a Premiership club. Darren Purse is being tipped to make the move across Brum to join up with Aston Villa.
