Prescient Lincoln
United visit promotion rivals Lincoln City on Saturday hoping to arrest a poor run that has seen them take just three points from the last 15 available and slip down from fifth to ninth in the table. Ian Atkins will probably revert to the 5-3-2 formation that has proven more successful away from home than at the KasStad, which means a probable recall for Matt Bound. Dave Waterman is unlikely to feature following the alleged pre-match argument in Swansea which apparently ended with the defender getting a taxi home after a falling out with Atkins. Bobby Ford will almost certainly return to the midfield in place of Roy Hunter, while up front Dominic Foley could partner either Steve Basham, if he's recovered from his dead leg, or Andy Scott.
This is Lincoln's third successive home fixture, having won the previous two to take them up to fifth. A win for Oxford will see the Us leapfrog Lincoln on goal difference and would put them right back into the frame for the play-offs. However the reported unrest amongst the playing staff following the Swansea incident and lack of clarity over contracts leads Rage Online to predict a home victory, but we'll be charitable to United and let them off with a 2-1 reverse.
