Oxford United have made another addition to their squad today with the arrival of Alfie Potter, on loan from Peterborough United for the whole season.
Potter, who achieved fame for scoring against Liverpool at Anfield in the FA Cup while on loan to Havant & Waterlooville, is a fast right-winger, who has been described as a bit lightweight. Think Eddie Odhiambo (Anaclet) but with more of an end product. He spent last season on loan at Kettering, where his trickery resulted in Kevin Sandwith's dismissal for two yellow cards.
With Potter's arrival Chris Wilder now has options on both flanks, and his squad building must be almost complete. He is known to be close to signing a central defender to add competition at the back, and a fourth striker is probably the only other missing piece to the final jigsaw. With the first pre-season friendly, at Oxford City, less than a fortnight away, Wilder seems to have everything geared up for a decent close season.
