Pentith hearing confirmed

The hearing for Nick Pentith's Judicial Review, which was originally allocated 20 minutes on March 13th, has now been extended to last for about three quarters of the day, meaning that both sides should now have ample opportunity to put their case and hopefully a decision one way or the other should be made shortly thereafter. It is likely to be a public hearing but this will not be confirmed until after 14:30 on Friday 10th March.

Brentford cheap

Ticket prices for the AWS third round tie at Brentford next Tuesday have been reduced to a fiver in a bid to boost the crowd. This should leave ample cash for supporters to enjoy the copious pubs that encircle Griffin Park.

Andre's number 1?

The Reuters Daily Soccer site offers this pen picture of Andre Arendse: “Andre Arendse (Oxford United, England), 32. Brought back into the South African side in recent months after being a member of the 1996 African Nations Cup winning team. Has failed to gain a regular spot with his English second division club but could be South Africa's new number one at the upcoming tournament. Check out pen pix of all the South Africa squad here.

Jemmo speculation mounts (thanks to credulous articles like this)

Following an interview in Friday's Oxford Mail with Nigel Jemson (currently on contract at Ayr United) rumours of an imminent return to Oxford for our former marksman are rife. Jemson claimed that he had “a great time at Oxford” and would jump at a chance to rejoin the club. Whilst United could clearly do with a proven goalscorer Mickey Lewis played down the speculation, drawing attention to the divisive affects of Jemson's arrogance on the squad the last time he played for United. It's probably all just paper talk anyway.

Gabba on the marko again

Darlington's Marco Gabbiadini, currently the leading scorer in Division 3, hit the target again this evening as he scored both his team's goals in their 2-2 home draw with York.
