Oxford United travel for the second successive season to Aldershot Town FC for the Johnstone Paint Trophy. Last year United were defeated 2-0 in the first round. The JPT rules require six of last Saturday's starting line up to be in tonight's starting line up, but whether Chris Wilder will follow Sheffield Wednesday boss Gary Megson's Carling Cup tactics of making three substitutions in the first 19 minutes remains to be seen. Nonetheless, we can expect several of the squad players to get an opportunity to impress.
Aldershot will perhaps have one eye on their Carling Cup home tie against Manchester United in three weeks time. Two successive league defeats, at home to Crawley and then away at Accrington will mean they need to refocus on the league.
For the JPT, five subs may be named on the bench, with three playing. If the scores are level after 90 minutes, the match goes straight to penalties.
