Oxford went down 2-0 to Glasgow Rangers this afternoon at the Gers' training ground. A goal from Andrew Little opened the scoring at the start of the first half, and Rangers completed the scoring when Steven Lennon chipped Ryan Clarke in the closing minutes.

While the Rangers side comprised mostly youth internationals playing their first game since the end of last season, United fielded mainly players hoping to be considered for the first team. Clarke played the full 90 minutes in goal because Billy Turley was ill, and Adam Murray also played the full game. Matt Green came close a couple of times for Oxford, but the difference was that Rangers' goals both came from good finishes.

Oxford now return to the south, where they will be playing the other Rangers, Queen's Park of that ilk, at the KasStad on Friday night. It remains to be seen whether or not Dexter Blackstock will be involved, as Nottingham Forest appear to have renewed their interest in signing the former Oxford striker.
