Notts County preview

Tomorrow United visit Meadow Lane for the last game of their worst ever season in a fixture rendered pointless (probably literally) due to both Oxford's and Notts County's status for next season already assured. Caretaker boss Mike Ford will probably stick with a youthful line-up, as indicated by his team selection for the Port Vale game on Tuesday.

Ford has already hinted that he feels that Rob Folland and Jon Shepheard should be offered new contracts for next season, David Kemp being ready to ditch the pair apparently, and it is quite possible that Folland will again feature in some capacity tomorrow. Jamie Brooks and Simon King, both starring on Tuesday, will also probably play and Jorden Holder could also take part, especially as Manny Omoyinmi is injured again leaving Andy Scott and Steve Anthrobus as the only fit recognised strikers (and we all know how good a striker Anthrobus is).

One definite change has been forced on Ford, youth team 'keeper Phil Wilson coming in for the suspended Richard Knight. This means that United won't have a reserve goalie on the bench, so hopefully Wilson's confidence won't be too damaged by the County forwards.

United need to avoid conceding two goals in order to avoid the unwanted landmark of shipping 100 league goals in the season. Unfortunately Rage Online cannot see a frail Oxford side preventing a strong County outfit from scoring at least a couple of goals and predicts a 3-1 win for the home side.
