Ebbsfleet United are tomorrow's visitors to Minchery Farm, as Darren Patterson looks to start his new management career with a first Conference win.[@opponent]Ebbsfleet United[/@opponent][@connection]Ebbsfleet United[/@connection] Last season Ebbsfleet were called Gravesend & Northfleet, but the lure of the sponsor's dollar proved too strong to resist, and the club changed its name to reflect the nearby Eurostar station. They were, the buggers, the first team to beat United in the Conference, winning 1-0 in Kent. On the plus side, they were the first team that United beat to end their long winless streak that started shortly after the Kents victory.
Patterson's team selection will definitely be different to his first one, the win over Northwich Victoria in the FA Cup first round last Saturday. Matt Day, who started at right wingback, picked up his fifth booking of the season in that match, and is therefore suspended tomorrow. Should Patto keep the same system, then Eddie Anaclet, who came on for Day and scored United's third goal, is the obvious replacement. In addition, midfielder Stefan Bailey has returned to Queens Park Rangers at the end of his loan month, leaving the way open for Eddie Hutchinson to return to the side after injury. The other injured players are mostly still not ready to play, although Rob Duffy featured for 70 minutes of a 2-0 friendly defeat at Aldershot in midweek. This means that Yemi Odubade and Kieran St Aimee are likely to be the front pair again, unless Patto decides the time is right to give Alex Fisher his first start. Chris Willmott played for the full 90 minutes against the Shots, and so may well come into contention at the back, although loanee Patrick Collins played well enough to keep his place.
All the talk at Ebbsfleet has been about the recent proposed buy-out of the club by the MyFootballClub.com website initiative, which has seen 20,000 mugs pledge
