It's bottom v top at the Manor tomorrow, but only a gap of fifty points separates the two sides and so there's everything to play for. Millwall may be without Paul Moody, but that shouldn't worry them unduly as they bid to do the double over United. Oxford will probably be unchanged from the line-up which started against Stoke, although this is Neil Cutler's last game before his loan spell ends (renewal pending) and Chris Hackett's last before his three match ban (appeal not pending). Last season the Lions did the double over Oxford and this season, with a 5-0 home victory already achieved at Senegal Fields, should be no different. United seem quite capable of scoring the odd goal here and there, but with the dodgiest defence in the league odd goals just aren't enough. Rage Online's optimistic prediction is 2-1 to Millwall; you just don't want to know our pessimistic one!
In a horrifying development at the Manor United midfielder Matt Murphy has revealed that the club is set to offer him a new contract, despite the fact that he is still on the transfer list. The fact that no-one has come in to take Murphy off the club's hands is hardly surprising, but what is astonishing is that Oxford are considering retaining the former Corby Town player despite having a golden opportunity to release him at no cost. Murphy has stated that he would like to stay at United – well, where else would he get regular first team football? – but until he actually signs on the dotted line there is still hope that his services will not be required next season.
In all the excitement Rage Online forgot to congratulate United's under-19 side for winning their league, rounding off in style with a 3-1 win over their swindon equivalents. Hopefully their senior colleagues will take note and produce a similar performance on March 10th.
