United’s reserves this afternoon beat Rushden’s second string 1-0 at Nene Park. Both sides featured many first teamers, and United triumphed after Chris Hackett and Jefferson Louis combined to set up Manny Omoyinmi after 25 minutes.

Lee Steele played for an hour and there were also run outs for Dave Waterman, Paul McCarthy, Matt Bound and Danny Brown, in addition to Simon Cox in goal. Substitutes included Adam Garner, Matt Brandish, Tom Winters and Jamie Brooks. Someone called Carbob also featured according to United’s official web site, but we suspect it might have been Josias Carbon.

At the weekend United’s under-17s lost 2-1 at home to Colchester. The under-19 side also lost 2-1, at Walsall.
