Graham James Atkinson was Ron`s younger brother, joining United in 1959 from Aston Villa. He was United's youngest player since records were kept (1949) aged 16 years 108 days when he made his debut, also becoming the club's youngest scorer as he scored in his first game. He scored United`s first ever league goal, in a 3-2 defeat at Barrow on 18 August 1962, and went on to score 86 goals in 325 games. The Liverpudlian is still United`s top league goalscorer, with 77 goals (five more than John Aldridge), and is sixth in United`s most appearances table. Graham left United at the end of the 1973/74 season to join brother Ron, who was manager of Kettering Town. Died from cancer on 05 January 2017.
