Thomas Richard Winters, born Banbury, came through the ranks at Oxford, his exciting left-wing play reminiscent of Joey Beauchamp in his prime. Winters made his first-team debut in the last game of the 2003/04 season, at home to Rochdale, where his running and willingness to shoot caught the eye. He failed to burst onto the scene in 2004/05, although he did score his first senior goal, against Exeter City in the LDV Vans Trophy. He was offered a professional contract at the start of the 2005/06 season, but was not able to secure a regular first team place. He was granted a three-month contract at the start of the 2006-07 season, but was released after two months. He later signed for Brackley Town, where he proceeded to bang in the goals.
