Kai Bernard James Andrews, midfielder born in Birmingham, joined Oxford United on loan from Coventry City on 28th August 2026 until 2nd January 2027. Despite being under embargo, United were able to sign Andrews thanks to special dispensation from the EFL after freeing up a squad space. The deal was possible because Oxford didn't have to pay anything to Coventry towards the loan. Andrews was known to manager Aaron Ramsey due to his involvement in the Wales set-up, where he had won one U19 cap, five U21 caps, and three full caps.
