James Anthony Golding, central defender or full back. Joined Oxford's academy aged 16 after eight years with AFC Wimbledon. Signed his first pro contract on 23rd March 2022. Joined Banbury United on a work experience loan for one month on 11th January 2022, later extended for a further month and then, after he was recalled, returned until the end of the season. Won the 2021/22 Young Player of the Season award. Returned to Banbury on a month's loan on 6th January 2023. On 11th August 2023 he joined Dartmouth on an initial one-month loan. Joined Maidenhead on loan on 26th September 2023 but was recalled on 23rd November 2023. Capped for Republic of Ireland U19s on 1st June 2022. The club took up a one-year option on his contract on 14th March 2023 and on 2nd May 2023 he signed a new long-term deal. Rejoined Maidenhead on loan on 4th September 2024. Moved to Southend United on loan for the rest of the season on 6th December 2024. Signed a new deal in May 2025. Joined Crewe Alexandra on a season-long loan on 8th August 2025 but was recalled on 3rd January 2026. Rejoined Southend on loan on 16th February 2026.
