Oxford United boss Chris Wilder has begun work to create a promotion winning squad for next season by securing the services of veteran midfielder Paul McLaren for another year.

The former Tranmere Rovers player has signed a one-year extension to his contract and the 34-year-old has declared his ambitions to see United reach Division Three. McLaren has provided much needed stability and composure to the Oxford midfield since joining in December.
