Andy Lord has left his position as Oxford United’s physio after the club accepted his resignation.
The former RAF servant was United’s physio for almost three years after arriving at the Kassam Stadium from Derby County back in September 2011.
Lord’s resignation comes just eight days after first-team coach Andy Melville also left his role at the Division Four club last Wednesday.
Lord said: “I feel the time is right for a new challenge. I’ve had a couple of offers from other clubs but I want to re-establish my private practice in Winchester, although I wouldn’t rule out a return to football in the future.
“Since I’ve been at the club the medical department has been improved and everyone there exhibits a high degree of professionalism.
“We’ve recruited some excellent support staff and I hope that they can remain part of the new set up when a new physio is recruited.”
Meanwhile, Us manager Gary Waddock showed his appreciation towards Lord for his efforts: “I’d like to thank Andy for his time at the club and wish him well for the future.
“I’ve only worked with him for a short time but he has been very professional in everything he does and has been a good servant to the club.”
