Lewis on cock-horse

Mickey Lewis has joined United old-boy Kevin Brock as a player at Doctor Martin's League Banbury United. Lewis will only play for Banbury when his Oxford United duties allow, so he is remaining as Denis Smith's number 2, at least for the time-being.

As far as we can discover tonight's reserve match against Norwich at the Manor was postponed, due to torrential rain – any excuse to avoid another humiliating defeat, perhaps?

Last night's League Cup match saw Bradford City beat Darlington 7-2. Dean Windass scored twice for the Bantams, and Darlo's second was scored by Mark Angel. Tonight Andy Thomson scored both Gillingham's goals in their 4-2 extra-time home defeat against Manchester City and Jim Magilton scored Ipswich's fourth in their 5-0 hammering of Millwall.
