Luton have apparently failed in their bid to sign Sunderland's former swindon striker Michael Reddy in time for United's visit. One connection between the clubs is, of course, Hatters boss Joke Kinnear. Kinnear claims to be familiar with the United side, despite Mark Wright's changes, although says that he has had no contact with the U's management apart from when United tried to give him midfielder Rob Quinn. This confirms suspicions that Quinn is one of the players whom United are looking to offload to create squad space.
Although United have yet to concede a goal on their travels so far this season Rage Online cannot see this trend continuing. Oxford won't be turned over though, having successfully tightened up at the back, but will continue to struggle to score. Rage Online optimistically (take note) predicts a 1-1 draw. Don't bet on it though.
Meanwhile Mark Wright will not be pursuing any interest in Nigerian triallist James Okoli. Wright has also rubbished stories that United are interested in signing either Mark Hughes or Stan Collymore (where did he get that from?) although remains hopeful of signing a striker before the weekend (although he didn't specify which weekend).
