Kids on the (chopping) block

Three of United's youth team have been told that they will not be offered professional contracts by the club next season. They are goalkeeper Phil Wilson, midfielder Kelvin McIntosh and forward Jorden Holder. All three have spent time on loan at Oxford City this season. United have promised to try and help them to find a new club and apparently there are a couple of Conference clubs interested in taking them on (Boston, perchance?). The three youngsters were given this devastating news earlier today, and Rage Online shares their disappointment. After they have recovered from hearing this news they should look upon it as an opportunity to find somewhere where they might be able to get regular first team football to kick-start their careers.

Stags ahead

United visit Field Mill for the second time this season as they attempt to dent Mansfield's hopes of an automatic promotion place. There will definitely be one change from the side that drew with Kidderminster as Jon Richardson will be out for some time with a twisted knee. Judging by Tuesday's performance there must also be doubts over whether or not Paul Moody is fit enough to play, but Jamie Brooks came through a full reserves game yesterday and so might be considered a potential starter. Apparently Phil Gray's absence is due to a disagreement with manager Ian Atkins over the consumption of alcoholic beverages.

Mansfield have Les Robinson amongst their number, thereby ensuring themselves of at least one goal following Rage Online's golden rule concerning former Us. Earlier the Stags beat United 1-0 in the first round of the FA Cup, this time round Rage Online is quietly confident that they'll do us even more damage, and we wouldn't be surprised if they trebled that particular scoreline.
