JR date

The new date for the judicial review hearing is now confirmed as July 17th. The reason why it is later than originally expected is because Nick Pentith sought a delay in order to allow for his barrister, Martin Kingston, to attend the session.

Iceland special offer

There are rumours currently on Merseyside that Oxford are interested in Liverpool's Iceland under-21 striker Haukur Ingi Gudnason. Liverpool paid Keflavik £150,000 for Gudnason in December 1997, with a further £500,000 to follow if he made the grade, so it is unlikely that anything will come of this.

Marsh mellows

Former United left back Simon Marsh, sold to Birmingham in 1998 for £250,000 when the club was in dire financial straits, has been released by the Brummies after failing to break into their first team on a regular basis. Meanwhile a couple of former U's are being linked with moves: Nigel Winterburn, whose Arsenal contract ends this Summer, is being connected with Premiership newcomers Manchester City, and there is speculation that Tottenham 'keeper Ian Walker might move to Norwich City. Former U's target for the managerial hotseat Joe Kinnear is on the verge of becoming Sheffield Wednesday's new boss.
