In an article in today's Oxford Mail Jamie Lambert is reported as being “disappointed” with the offer he received from Oxford United, claiming that it was what he was receiving from Reading when he was eighteen. He went on to say that all he wanted was an average second division wage. Well, maybe if he was an average second division player…. It's probably just Lambert's father/agent/lawyer (for they are one and the same person) talking up the deal in the local paper in an attempt to force the club to make a better offer. However, if money is tight then Lambert is not a player on whom scarce resources should be spent.
