According to reports Oxford and Luton are fighting over the signature of highly rated Telford United defender Simon Travis. The 23-year-old former Stockport wing-back is currently out of contract with Telford and has attracted the interest of both Joe Kinnear and Mark Wright, although he is currently in the final year of a geography degree at Bristol University and obviously would like to complete his course. Travis is an ex-Torquay United trainee and also played for England Under-18s.
Wright has denied reports that he is going to sign Andy Gouck and Ian Arnold from his former club, Southport, as both players have been signed by Morecambe. Phil Bolland trained with the rest of the United squad this morning and Scott Guyett will come in for a trial when he gets back from holiday.
Wright is also allegedly interested in Geoff Pitcher, currently at Kingstonian (where United are due to play one of their pre-season friendlies).
