Despite the euphoria that would be sure to ensue following Moody's return, Rage Online would like to sound a note of caution. Firstly, it must be remembered that returning heroes rarely live up to their former reputation, something that we should be well aware of at United. Secondly, Moody's back injury has to be borne in mind. Whilst his goalscoring record at Millwall, Fulham and Oxford has been excellent, he is now 34 years old and even in his final season at the Manor he missed a large number of games due to his back injury, and by the time he was sold to Fulham for £200,000 many United supporters felt that it was time he moved on. He was even booed on a number of occasions at home games. We are confident that he would rip the third division defences to shreds, but we are also mindful of these concerns.
The other signing is likely to be a goalkeeper, but whether it's Tony Malessa or someone else it definitely won't be Dave Beasant, who ended the uncertainty surrounding his short-term future by signing a four month contract with Portsmouth.
