Hoist on our own petard

Serves us right, really. The press conference we told you about yesterday, to announce the restart date for building at Minchery Farm, was postponed this morning. Apparently there are still a couple of contractual i's to be crossed and d's to be dotted, or something. Hopefully a new date will be announced imminently.

Alas Smith, the moans

The other rumour we mentioned also failed to materialise, and we can confidently reveal that Denis Smith will be the Oxford Untied (sic) manager for at least another 24 hours. Never mind, we'll keep printing all the spurious rubbish we hear in the hope that, one day, the hopeful punt upfield will turn out to be a precise through ball…

Whittingham clumps up the Manor?

A story on the “ever-reliable” Teamtalk, but this time apparently confirmed by the Peterborough Evening Telegraph, is that former Oxford City striker Guy Whittingham has been having discussions with United about a possible move to the Manor. Whittingham was recently on loan at Peterborough from Portsmouth, but that move ended with no permanent transfer and only limited opportunities for the 35 year old.
