Alan Hodgkinson is to retire at the age of 76. The goalkeeping coach will hang up his goalkeeping gloves after more than 60 years of fantastic service to professional football and will hand over responsibility to Wayne Brown. His duties were nationally recognised when Alan received an MBE in 2008 to commemorate his hard work and dedication.
Hodgkinson had a wonderful career playing over 600 times for Sheffield United before becoming the first specialist goalkeeping coach in the UK. Alan was also proudly capped by England five times before his coaching roles led him to big clubs such as Manchester United and Glasgow Rangers, where he has been accredited for the upbringing of Red
