Heaven is closer

Oxford travel to Crewe Alexandra tomorrow for what is their biggest test of the season so far. United remain unbeaten on the road in the League, and have yet to concede a goal, but their opponents have been Burton Albion, Wycombe Wanderers, and Hereford United, none of whom have really stretched the Us. On the other hand, Crewe, since their opening day defeat at home to Hereford, have beaten Barnet 7-0 and Bury 3-0 at Gresty Road and will obviously be approaching the game full of confidence, while Oxford will be looking to get back on track after going down 1-0 at home to Stockport County last Saturday.

There are no new injury worries for Chris Wilder, although it looks unlikely that Jake Wright will be fit for the game, leaving Harry Worley and Mark Creighton as the two ponderous centre-backs. With neither Jack Midson nor Alfie Potter featuring in the Reserves
